Global Campus of Human Rights: registration open for the Online Training for International Electoral Observers, 9-13 november 2026
Registration is now available for the online training course for international election observers, organised by the Global Campus of Human Rights, to be held online from 9 to 13 November 2026. The course aims to provide the tools and knowledge necessary to prepare professionals capable of effectively monitoring and evaluating voting processes, thus contributing to the strengthening of democratic practices. The lessons will be conducted in English in a mixed format, both asynchronous and synchronous.
The training celebrates its 20th anniversary this year. It was developed by the Global Campus of Human Rights in collaboration with election observation expert Demetrio Lazagna and was first delivered in person in 2012.
In 2020, in response to the Covid-19 pandemic, the course was redesigned as an online programme to comply with social distancing measures while ensuring continuity of education. As the health emergency subsided, the online format proved to be a valuable alternative, addressing obstacles such as travel restrictions, visa issues and financial barriers. This has widened access to the course, including for individuals in more vulnerable situations.
The program is primarily aimed at young people aged 18 to 25, with a maximum of 25 participants, and has a registration fee of 475 euros. The deadline for the application is 31 October 2026.
The training is organised with the patronage of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Italy, the Czech Republic and Spain, and is supported by the European External Action Service (EEAS), the Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR), the African Union and The Carter Center.
