Students of the Master's Degree in Human Rights and Multi-level Governance, A.A. 2014/2015 take a picture with their arms crossed to join the UN global campaign Stop rape now

In the context of the course on Women’s human rights held by Ms Luisa Cremonese, the students of the MA Degree Programme in Human Rights and Multi-level Governance of the University of Padua have joined the UN Campaign “Stop rape now” against the use of sexual violence as a tactic of war.

In order to support the international campaign, they have taken a picture of themselves with their arms crossed in an X to say NO to this odious crime.

Stop rape now: UN Action Against Sexual Violence in Conflict is a new, joint UN initiative, which involves 13 UN agencies to prevent all forms of gender-based violence, including sexual violence, in conflict and to support survivors. It will work with national governments and NGO partners to: generate public awareness on the growing use on the growing use of sexual violence as a weapon of warfare, and how to prevent it; end impunity for perpetrators of sexual violence in conflict; improve and scale up services for survivors; address the longer term impacts of sexual violence on communities and national development.
