The Disability Agenda Italia is a national initiative promoted by the Consulta per le Persone in Difficoltà and co-funded by the Ministry of Labour and Social Policies.

The project aims to concretely transform the way Italian society addresses disability and inclusion, involving public, private and Third Sector actors.

Among the main planned activities is an online Higher Education Course, scheduled from 2 July 2026 to 14 January 2027, dedicated to disability and inclusion. It is one of the first programmes of its kind in Italy, designed in an innovative way and aimed at generating a positive impact in organisational contexts.

The course targets a broad and diverse audience: company employees, social workers, employment service operators, representatives of Third Sector organisations and, more generally, all organisations wishing to promote meaningful change. The ambition is to reach participants from all twenty Italian regions, building a national network of skills and best practices.

The Disability Agenda Italia is rooted in the experience developed by CPD together with Fondazione CRT, created to foster dialogue between the profit and non-profit worlds. Its core is built around six fundamental objectives: Social Housing, Supporting Families, Living the Territory, Working to Grow, Learning Inside and Outside School, Caring and Being Cared For.

Through these pillars, the project aims to promote more inclusive, safe and sustainable cities and territories, tackling inequalities and conditions of marginalisation related to disability. The broader goal is to strengthen inclusive skills and policies across the public, private and Third Sectors, fostering a collective awareness that treats disability as a shared responsibility.

The Agenda's values are also expressed through the fourth edition of the "Paolo Osiride Ferrero" Award, promoted by CPD and Fondazione CRT. This year the award expands into three distinct sections.

The Journalism Award recognises those who, within Italian media, stand out in promoting disability and social inclusion, rewarding approach, language and narrative originality.

The Special Activism Award acknowledges the commitment of those who actively work for the rights of people with disabilities and for the spread of a more inclusive culture.

The new feature of this edition is the Disability Agenda Award, aimed at companies and organisations that have developed, over the past year, inclusive and accessible internal or external communication initiatives. Recognition will go to those who have managed to turn their commitment to inclusion into a concrete and ongoing practice — from accessible internal tools to institutional campaigns, from editorial content to public initiatives aimed at customers and communities.

Special attention will be given to projects capable of promoting an authentic, stereotype-free representation of disability, fostering recognition of the rights, skills and full participation of people with disabilities in the social, cultural and economic life of the country. Projects will be evaluated on quality, impact and level of innovation.
