The UN Human Rights Committee (CCPR) is inviting stakeholders worldwide to submit comments on Draft General Comment No. 38, concerning Article 22 of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights — the right to freedom of association.

The Committee completed the first reading of the draft at its 145th session in March 2026. The comments received will inform the second reading at the Committee's upcoming session.

In addition to Member States, UN entities, specialised agencies and Regional human rights mechanisms, also Trade unions, civil society organisations, National human rights institutions and Academic institutions, such as Universities, can submit comments by 30 June 2026.

So do not miss this opportunity to contribute to an important international human rights framework!

More info on the draft and how to submit comments can be found at https://www.ohchr.org/en/calls-for-input/2026/call-comments-draft-general-comment-no-38-article-22-right-freedom-association
