What can I do for Gaza?

Empathy: the ability to put oneself in another person’s situation or, more precisely, to immediately understand the other’s psychological processes.

The origin of the initiative “What can I do for Gaza?” lies in the concept of empathy: to witness helplessly the organised killing of civilians, children and infants, the targeted bombing of hospitals, schools, and refugee camps, and to be unable not to identify with those desperate parents, rendered powerless to protect or even feed their own children.
Alberto Canazza, one of the project's promoters, speaks of "that sense of disorientation felt by so many already sensitive people, when they say: this is unacceptable, but I can’t do anything, there’s nothing I can do, is there?”
The awareness of feeling powerless in the face of a massacre of civilians, especially children, carried out with impunity, even though, thanks to social media, it’s happening in full view of the world: this is the driving force behind What can I do for Gaza?
Created in record time by a group of friends and acquaintances, all professionals from the world of communication, the website brings together concrete actions that each of us can take to oppose the ongoing genocide.

Actions are divided into five categories: pressure, learn, share, donate, participate.
Pressure encourages people to put pressure on the business world, as Canazza explains: “We decided to approach the issue of companies a little differently from traditional BDS (Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions) campaigns, which have existed for years against the occupation of Palestinian territories and the apartheid system. We’re addressing those companies that have historically collaborated with the Israeli army or government, or profited from them, saying clearly: you can no longer pretend nothing is happening. For each company, we’ve identified targeted actions. The idea isn’t just to passively boycott, but to explicitly ask these companies to take a stand. Because staying silent today is not acceptable.”
Learn encourages self-education through reading, videos, and other informative materials.
Share encourages people to speak out and raise awareness about the situation in Gaza.
Donate calls for donations to organisations such as UNRWA or Médecins Sans Frontières.
Participate invites people to sign petitions.
We are living in dark times, where violence and oppression seem to be taken for granted everywhere.
Stay human, urged Arrigoni. And every single action can help remind us that we still are, despite everything.
