Thursday 24 June 2010 at 11.00 am a ceremony has been held for the dedication of a room of the Interdepartmental Centre on Human Rights and the Rights of Peoples of the University of Padua to the names of Iqbal Masih, a Pakistani child and human rights defender, and of Arnoldo Farina, the first President-Founder of UNICEF Italia, on the 10th anniversary of his death.

The Centre on Human Rights and the Rights of Peoples of the University of Padua has shared a relationship of rich and fruitful collaboration with Arnoldo Farina, beginning with the training course on development cooperation, the first of the kind in an Italian university, and the preparation work for the International Convention on the rights of the child.

It was an opportunity to remember the extraordinary commitment of two exemplary defenders of children's and adolescents' rights.

Both teachers and students have taken speeches accordingly on behalf of the event.

The programme, further information and attachments about this event are available in Italian. Accessing the information page of the ceremony you are leaving the English version of the website.
