International Human Rights Day 2010 – Maria Magdalena Sepulveda Carmona, UN Independent Expert on the question of human rights and extreme poverty, Padua, 10 December 2010

On Friday 10 December 2010, at 9.30, at Aula Magna “G. Galilei” in the Palazzo del Bo, University of Padua, it was held a Seminar on the theme “Extreme poverty and human rights: the rights of the poor. Guidelines of the United Nations". The introductory report will be presented by Maria Magdalena SEPÚLVEDA CARMONA, UN Independent Expert on the question of human rights and extreme poverty. The event will be attended by representatives of the national trade unions, of Confindustria (Industrial association) and of NGOs.
The seminar will be held during the International Human Rights Day and in conclusion of the European Year for combating poverty and social exclusion.
The seminar is promoted by the the Interdepartmental Centre on Human Rights and the Right of Peoples of the University of Padua and by the Rights+Human Network, under the patronage of the Region of Veneto and the Municipality of Padua.
Rights+Human Network is a season of meetings and events on human rights organized in Italy and worldwide which is arrived to its fifth edition and which is promoted every year during November and December by ADUSU-Associazione Diritti Umani – Sviluppo Umano (Human Rights - Human Development Association), ACLI Padova, Adescoop-Agenzia dell’Economia Sociale (Agency of Social Economy), Legacoop Padova, Confcooperative Padova, Fondazione Fontana and Centro Padovano della Comunicazione Sociale-MPX (Paduan Centre of Social Communication-MPX).
