Karlo Godoladze

Karlo Godoladze graduated in Law at the Ilia State University, Tbilisi (Georgia), with a major in constitutional law. He wrote several articles on the constitutional process in Georgia. Among his publications can be mentioned: “Republicanism’s Paradigm in Constitutionalism”, in Humanities and Social Sciences Review, and “Constitutional Changes in Georgia: Political and Legal Aspects”, in Constitutional Law Review.

He was legal adviser at the State Commission for Constitutional Reform in Georgia, as well as researcher and lecturer at the Centre for Costitutional Studies of the Ilia State University, Tbilisi.

He was member of “CostitutionNet. Supporting Constitution Builders Globally”, a network supported by the International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance (IDEA).

He participated as panelist in several international conferences in Georgia and abroad.

In January 2011 he was awarded the Presidential Scholarship to attend his studies in law.

Since September 2016, Karlo was attending the first year classes at the Master’s Degree in Human Rights and Multi-level Governance at the University of Padova.

The Human Rights Centre is deeply saddened by the tragic passing of Karlo, an honour student, and offers its condolences to his family and to the academic communities in Padova and of the Ilia State University, Tbilisi.
