Global Campus of Human Rights Conversations

The Global Campus of Human Rights is organising its fourth edition of Global Campus of Human Rights Conversations on 14 July. As the Covid-19 pandemic is exacerbating human suffering, widening inequalities and threatening peoples’ livelihood,  a focus on investing in the education of young generations should be a non-negotiable requirement in order to face the future in a spirit of hope. Education shall be at the core of a sustainable future also for the city of Venice, which is inaugurating the celebrations for its 1,600 years anniversary, and become one of the driving forces in the middle of this pandemic both for our local and global community.

The Global Campus of Human Rights wishes to provide a space for the exchange of views on the possible futures for Venice, and to do so will host a series of “online Global Campus of Human Rights Conversations: Possible futures for Venice”.

The fourth edition will feature the following speakers talking about possible futures for Venice based on the arts and culture, and the relationship of the city with national institutions like the Senate and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, artists, Universities and the international cultural and non-profit organisations:

Benedetto Della Vedova, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation - Human Rights mandate (Italy)

Orietta Vanin, Senate of the Republic (Italy)

Luca Molinari, M9 Museum (Italy)

Emma Ursich, Generali Foundation - The Human Safety Net Onlus

Nick Danziger, Picture People (UK)

Koen Vanmechelen, LABIOMISTA – Studio Koen Vanmechelen (Belgium)

Manfred Nowak, GC Secretary General

Elisabetta Noli, GC Administrative Director (moderator)

The 4th Conversation will take place via Zoom on Wednesday, 14 July from 11 am (CEST) in compliance with the anti-Covid-19 legislation. Registration can be done here.
