The second series of SUDEUROPA, the quarterly of European civilization and culture, founded in 1978 and now directed by prof. Daniele Cananzi, has recently been released. In the new edition, the review intends to resume the work of the European Documentation Centre of the Higher Education Institute of European Political Studies (ISESP) of Reggio Calabria. SUDEUROPA aims to provide a space for debate, discussion and information on the various dimensions of the European integration process, and to think critically about the reality and the future of the European Union and Southern Europe, which, as highlighted in the editorial of the first issue, is still struggling to keep up more than many other regions.

The magazine consists of five regular columns and other headings that will periodically enrich dialogue on human rights represented throughout SUDEUROPA magazine.  The regular columns will feature three major research centres and four universities: the Department of Law and Economics of the University Mediterranea of Reggio Calabria (Legislation, jurisprudence and international practice), its local administration Observatory, the Human Rights Centre of the University of Padova, the ICrioss Bocconi University (“Chessboard of the Mediterranean in the Middle East”) and the LUISS University of Rome (Political and Cultural Economies).

The Human Rights Today column consists of two sections: a short article by editorial team and a scientific study. The "Point on Human Rights" article aims at introducing and discussing the most significant and recent innovations in the field of human rights at the universal, regional, national and local level. The scientific study consists of both theoretical and empirical aspects related to the promotion and protection of human rights with contributions by experts and scholars from different backgrounds and disciplinary formations.

SUDEUROPA is part of the EDC network's publication of the European Commission.
