The Human Rights Centre Joins in the Grief Shared by the Great Family of Those Who Work for Peace at the Passing of Father Nicola Giandomenico
The University of Padua's Interdepartmental Centre on Human Rights and the Rights of Peoples, together with the UNESCO Chair, Democracy and Peace, joins in the grief shared by all in the great family of those who work for peace at the passing of Father Nicola Giandomenico, guardian of the Sacro Convento di Assissi (Sacred Convent of Assisi), and an inspirational figure behind the Tavola della Pace (Table of Peace). Father Nicola opened the doors of the Sacro Convento to the participants in both the Perugia-Assisi March for Peace and the UN Assembly of Peoples.
The sadness of the moment, however, is somewhat alleviated by the certainty that Father Nicola's generous donation of friendship and solidarity will continue to bear fruit in the furtherance of the construction of peace in a manner that respects the dignity of all members of the human family and their rights, equality, and inalienability.
