Youth, Peace and Security in Iraq and Italy
The project “Youth, Peace and Security in Iraq and Italy” is promoted by the Human Rights Centre “Antonio Papisca” of the University of Padova, in collaboration with Un Ponte Per, with the support of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
The initiative contributes to the implementation of the international “Youth, Peace and Security” Agenda and UN Security Council Resolution 2250 (S/RES/2250 (2015)), recognizing the role of young people as agents of change in promoting peace and security.
The project strengthens the operational capacities of Iraqi youth networks engaged in peacebuilding and social cohesion, fostering exchanges of good practices with Italian counterparts. In particular, it supports the 2250 Network in the development of the Iraqi National Action Plan on Youth, Peace and Security.
Through training, capacity-building activities, exchanges of good practices and institutional dialogues, the project promotes intergenerational and international cooperation, supports the meaningful participation of Italian and Iraqi youth, and contributes to strengthening the resilience of civil society in Iraq.
